From their name to the page: how a book comes together
By The Yours Fairy Tale studio · January 27, 2026 · 2 min read
People are often curious about what happens after they place an order. It is not a mystery, and we are happy to walk you through it. Here is the path a book takes, from a few details to a hardcover on your doorstep.
You share the details
It begins with you. You tell us the child's name, their hair, their favorite animal, and pick the story you like best. This part takes a few minutes. Everything that follows grows from these small, true facts.
We build the story around them
Next, the writing and the art come together. Their name is set into the text, and the artist begins drawing the child as the hero. The favorite animal finds its way onto the pages. The story bends a little to fit the specific kid it is about.
You see a preview
Before anything is printed, we send you a full preview of the book. This is your chance to check the details and ask for changes. If the hair is not quite right, or you want a different jacket color, tell us. We would rather fix it now than have you notice it later.
We print and bind
Once you are happy, the book is printed and bound as a hardcover. We use sturdy paper and a cover built for bedtime after bedtime, because we know exactly how these books get used.
It arrives
Most books are illustrated, printed, and on their way within about two weeks. You will get an email at each step, so you are never left wondering. Then one day a package shows up, and inside is a story with your child's name on the cover.
That is the whole journey. A handful of details at the start, a little care in the middle, and a keepsake at the end.
